Unter dem Archon Euphiletos; die Erechtheïs hatte die viertePrytanie inne, für die Ariston S.d. Theodoros aus dem Demos RhamnousXII Sekretärwar; im Boëdromion am alten und neuen, dem dreizehnten (Tag) derPrytanie; Haupt-Volksversammlung in dem Theater; von denVorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung Chariteles S.d. Pamphilos aus dem Demos Aphidna undseine Mitvorsitzenden. Beschluss von Rat und Volk; Phano-machos S.d - - - aus dem Demos Phyla stellte den Antrag: Da die Epheben unter dem ArchonDiokles stets in guter Ordnung zu den Gymnasien kamen;sich gehorsam verhielten gegenüber dem Kosmeten undden ihnen vorgesetzten Lehrern; bei der Weihehandlungder Mysterien gut und fromm ihren Dienst verrichtet haben, wie es ihnengehießen haben der (Archon) Basileus und die Mitglieder der Kommission fürdie Mysterien; sie auch die Prozessionen durchgeführt haben und die Fackelzügemitgelaufen sind bei den anderen Festspielen in guter Formation und guterOrdnung; sie auch die Opfer den Götter geopfert und glücklich vollzogenhaben gemäß den Gesetzen und den Beschlüssen - - -- - - und das geziemende Opfer auf Salamis bei den Aias-Spielen, und für Demokrateia die Prozession durchgeführt haben undden Fackelzug mitgelaufen sind für die eponyme Gottheit der Insel; sie auchin das Umland ausgerückt sind, wie es ihnen die Gesetze vorschrieben, - - -- - - gemeinsam übernachtet haben - - - auch denVolksversammlungen beigesessen haben, wie es ihnen vorgeschrieben war; sie auch dieParade vor dem Rat und die (Parade) in Waffen durchgeführt haben; –Damit nun das Volk in öffentlicher Weise diejenigen ehrt, die sich nützlichund gerecht erweisen, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass dieerlosten Vorsitzenden für die kommende Volksversammlung hierüberverhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen,wonach der Rat es für gut befindet, dass man belobige die Epheben unter demArchon Diokles und sie bekränze mit goldenem Kranzwegen ihrer Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern und ihrer Disziplin und ihres Ehrgeizesfür den Rat und das Volk; dass man ihnen gewähredie Weihung einer Bildtafel an einem Ort ihrer Wahl; dass man belobigeauch den Knabentrainer Heortios S.d. Hermodoros aus dem Demos Acharnai, und denKatapultausbilder - - -, und denWaffenausbilder - - -- - -
In the archonship of Euphiletos (213/2), in the fourth prytany, of Erechtheis,for which Ariston son of Theodoros of Rhamnous was secretary.On the old and new day of Boedromion, the thirteenth of theprytany. Principal Assembly in the theatre. Of thepresiding committee Chariteles son of Pamphilos of Aphidna was putting to the vote, andhis fellow presiding committee members. The Council and the People decided.Phanomachos son of - of Phyle proposed: since the ephebes of thearchonship of Diokles (214/3) have continued to be well-disciplined in the gymnasia,and have demonstrated obedience to their commanding officer andto those appointed as their trainers, and in the riteof the Mysteries did good and pious service, asthey were instructed by the king and the managers of the Mysteries,and participated in the processions, and ran the torch racesin the other competitions in an orderly and disciplined manner,and made the sacrifices to the gods and obtained favourable omenspursuant to the laws and decrees - - -- - - and at the time of the sacrifice on Salamis [at the festival of Ajax]they both participated in the procession for Democracy andran the torch race for the eponymous of the island, and they went outinto the country as the laws required of them - - -- - - reported that they kept watch - - -and were on guard at the Assemblies, as they were instructed, andcarried out the demonstration, both the one in the Council and the one at arms;so that the People may be seen to honour those who show themselvesto be of good service and competent, for good fortune, the Council shall decide, that thepresiding committee allotted for the forthcoming Assembly shall place this matteron the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People,that it seems good to the Council to praise the ephebes of thearchonship of Diokles (214/3), and crown them with a gold crownfor their piety towards the gods and their discipline andlove of honour towards the Council and the People; and they shall be granted permissionto set up a painting in whatever place they may choose; and also to praisetheir physical trainer, Heortios son of Hermodoros of Acharnai, and theirartillery officer - - - and theirweapons trainer - - -- - -
